In Chihuahua, Mexico

TESTIMONY AND MINISTRY
Salvation: As a little child the Bible was read to
me at home and I was taken to Sunday School and church. At the age of five years
I realized my personal need of salvation and believed on Jesus Christ as my
Savior.
Preparation: Early I felt the desire to be a missionary and as a
young teen gave my life to the Lord for missions. After three years of nurses
training I went to Bible School and graduated from the Missions Course at the
Grand Rapids School of the Bible and Music.
Brazil: After serving the Lord in my home church, Central Bible
Church, Aurora, Illinois, for a year I applied to Biblical Ministries Worldwide.
In 1966. I arrived in Brazil and served the Lord there for eight years,
mainly in children's Bible classes.
Mexico: In 1974 the mission asked me to come to Mexico and serve
in the Maranatha Bible Institute. In recent years the classes have been held in
the church where the largest number of students are with others traveling to
join them. The students are from our Bible churches. Most are married with
families and all are active in various ministries in their churches.
Churches: Our goal is to plant reproducing churches and train
leaders to do likewise. Four of our churches are autonomous and five are still
in formation. Four Institute graduates are pastoring churches and three more are
considering the ministry of the pastorate.
Ministry: Over the years my main ministry has been in the area of
Christian Education, teaching C.E. courses in the Institute and doing teacher
training in churches. Also I have been coordinating the correspondence course
ministry for evangelism and discipleship.
Newest Church Plant: Chihuahua City is growing rapidly and I am in
the newest church near the new university campus. I have trained workers in
educational ministries including Sunday School, Children's Church, mid-week
children's classes, Vacation Bible School and also in women's ministries.
Conferences: In recent years a fellowship of pastors, missionaries
and leaders in the churches has been developed to help with the needs in our
churches. Each year our Christain Education Committee has organized one-day C.E.
Conferences with workshops in different areas of ministry.
These are held on one Saturday in Chihuahua for the four churches in the "north"
and another Saturday for the five churches in the "south" Delicias area.
Anywhere from 50 to 90 youth and adults attend each conference.
I have also worked with a team in Vacation Bible School workshops which prepares
materials for 12 churches and trains about 100 people (directors, teachers and
helpers) for the summer V.B.S. or Bible Clubs.
Praise Be To God! It is a joy to be here and be part of what the Lord is doing
in the hearts and lives of children, young people and adults who are trusting
Christ as Savior and growing in Him.
I am thankful to be a part of the church planting team here in Mexico and enjoy
sharing what God is doing in the ministries.
